Hello, hello! How are
you! The topic today is about women, and our role in this life. About a month
ago, one of my best friends told me she is pregnant. This week I found out that
other of my friends is pregnant again (she has a 3 year-old boy and a 2
year-old girl). Besides, in my group of friends I’m the only one left without
children, and they all start asking: What about you? That is something that
completely annoys me. Please, don’t misunderstand me, I love children and I want
to have a lot (four at least, ha ha!), but it’s my decision when to have them
and what I’m doing with my life. And what if you ask that to a woman who cannot
have children? A question like that would be devastating, imagine!
But, the point is that,
why are we, women, in the world? Just to have children? What about our dreams
and plans? Because, let’s be realistic, when you have a child you have to give
up many things; probably your job, career, travels, etc. I know it sounds
selfish, but I consider that the decision of having a child should be more
responsible and not just a whim (when you really, really want something). I still
need some time for myself and to enjoy the time I have with my boyfriend,
friends and family.I know I'm still young and that eventually I'll feel ready to have a baby.
Happy students’ day!!!
Be happy!
Natalia.

(they are sooooo lovely!!!)
Those babies are so cute!!!
ResponderEliminarNaty, I absolutely agree with you. My family and friends do not say that to me since I'm 21 (in two days, 22 haha) But I know that's something people tend to say when you reach a certain age and you don't have children. My aunt is 37 and she still doesn't have any children. She is travelling around the world instead!! And there are many people telling her "se te pasa el arroz" (such a funny expression). It's her decision and there's nothing wrong with that. And the same happens with many other women.
I could imagine the situation in which someone is asking WHAT ABOUT YOU? to a woman that is infertile. So sad. Such an out-of-place comment.
Liked your post!
Cute babies!!!
ResponderEliminarYou know? People sometimes just speak their minds and do not think twice before they ask such personal questions. I understand your point since it happens to me as well, not so much as regards having babies but as regards having a boyfriend (you see? some of us are some steps behind from you, for example, haha!) and it is really annoying because they don't know your story, your background, what you want in life.
It is true that the question of "what about you, do you have any children?" is reckless since it may happen that they ask someone who has that desire but cannot accomplish it (whatever her reasons are).
Maybe, you should just try to focus your annoyance on something else and let people speak and say whatever they want, as long as you have it clear in your mind what you want for yourself and for your life!!! ;)
I like your post! I get what you mean nati. The same happens to me but in another field. When are you finishing your studies? How much time do you have left? Sometimes people are mean and do not care about wht you have been through and just pop up the question, just to bother you.

ResponderEliminaryou are right Naty!!!
ResponderEliminarSometimes not only friends but society puts pressure on women. I have a aunt who is 30 years old and she has no children. I drives me mad when I listen my family asking her: and, when are you planning to have children?
And, the worst of all is that in the neighborhood she is already considered as the "spinter" one. :/
yeah!!! that's right Nati!!! but you know babies are so cute... meanwhile they don't poop their diapers and clothes!!!! haha!! nop, I'm just joking!! (but it's true :-)) You know that I have 3 B-U-tifull kids but when I got to know that I was pregnant for my 3rd time everybody asked me if I was crazy or if I was using any kind of contraceptive methods that failed! Of course I felt a bit disturbed about it but I was really happy!!!
ResponderEliminarThe point is that sometimes people make some annoying comments that could't be accepted and bother oneself but I think it deppends on what it is said and who says it!!!
liked you post!!
