Hello
people! Today I woke up decided to dedicate some time to my plants. The truth
is that I love gardening, but I don’t know much about it and I don’t dedicate
as much time as I would like to. Although now it’s raining, this morning was
perfect to tidy up my humble garden.
But the
thing is that, while I was doing this, I starting thinking about the reason why
I enjoy being in the garden working with plants and flowers. And that reason is
my grandfather. Despite the fact that he is not with us anymore, I think I could
really take advantage of the time I shared with him. He was the most peaceful
and patient person I have ever known, and his big passion was gardening. He
loved bonsais and orchids. He used to spend whole afternoons teaching us how to
take care of a plant.
What I realize
now is that I would love to have a time machine to go back and spend some
moments with him and ask him questions and learn more things. I know that this
is not possible, but it’s an idea I always have in my mind. Is there anything
you would do if you had a time machine?
Hope you
have a great weekend. Be happy!
Natalia
Hi naty :) It is interesting how a simple activity such as gardening can take you back to the time when you and your granfather spent hours and hours together. In my case, if I had the chance to have a time machine I would probably go back in time not to change my life (I have no regrets from everything that I have done) but to change someone else´s life. I would go back and tell that person: "Stop doing what you are doing. Can´t you realize that this will cause a huge damage in your life". But, it is almost impossible to do that. I wish I could. It is great that through this activity you can have a concetion with your grandad Naty. It seems that he was a really significant person in your life.
ResponderEliminarI would love to have a time machine. But as Nadya said, not to change my life. I think everything I did, right or wrong, was worthy. But, I would travel to the past and visit those moments in which my granddad was alive. I have many many memories. However, sometimes it's not enough. I have the need to see him one more time. Fortunately, there's a place which connects me to him. A place he really loved.
ResponderEliminarNaty your post brought many memories back to me. That's why I want to THANK YOU.
You know... There are some things I regreat and many times I wishe I had a time machine or maybe a second opportunity to do everything one more time.
ResponderEliminarBut the truth is peope... If I had a time machine, I would know what to do with it!
On the other hand, while reading the title of your post Nati I couldn't help thinking about the story "The Time Machine" by H.G. Wells and now I believe that if I could travel through time I wouldn't use the machine to re-do something in my life, but instead I would use it to meet some of the most influential characters of history or I would take a look at the future maybe.
Quite imaginative jjajajaja!
GREAT!!! Isn't it amazing how a very simple think like gardening drives you to very significant moments in your life???!! I love those moments in which the simplest things wake up different feelings (but specially possitive feelings).
ResponderEliminarWhat would I do if I had a time machine??? Don't know really... but I think that maybe, (and because you are talking about granddads), I would go back to the day before my granddad died and kiss him and say goodbye!! I have the awful feeling that I didn't say anything to him that night and I really miss him...
I love how some people, like you girls, can have great memories about relatives and share them with others. unfortunately, I feel as if I didn't have much to say since I didn't have a close relationship with any of my grandparents. I wish my kids have something to remember about theirs!
ResponderEliminarI f I had a time machine, I would go back in time to meet my Dad's father! I didn't have the chance.
