Hello there! How are you? I'm great. Finally finishing this long week. One of the things I like doing after an exhausting week is to prepare something to eat and sit on the couch to watch a movie. I really enjoy those two or three hours (if the movie is good, of course) in which you can enter a new world and inside a story, fall in love with characters, hate others, and so on. For me is the perfect escape from the real world.
One of the movies I love is "500 days of summer". This is not a master-piece or something like that. I have seen it many, many times and I don't get tired of it. In short, the story is about a boy who falls in love with a girl. But is not as simple as that, and is not as ordinary as that. Summer is an eccentric and anti-love girl, who starts dating him but eventually leaves him. Tom, a naive believer in eternal and honest love, thinks his world is over and starts recalling all the moments they spent together in those 500 days to see what the problem was. With time he realizes life continues and ends up finding his true passion.
But the point is, that sometimes we believe we have found what makes us happy and we hold on to it thinking all would be perfect for the rest of our times. However, sometimes destiny has something different prepared for us; and we see it as someting terrible and unfair. Eventually, the unfortunate moment will pass and we will realize that life's plan for us may be much greater than the one we thought it was the only possible. So, I guess we must always have faith in the future and remember that "Every cloud has a silver lining".
Be happy!
Nati.

Natalia: The movie you described seems to be really interesting!!! It makes me feel like watching it already!!
ResponderEliminarAfter I read what you published, I have to say that I agree with you in two things: the first one is your idea to relax after a long week and a lot of hard work. It really makes one feel at ease to watch a movie and disconnect from the real world. The second thing is that it is true that when we do not get the things we want and expect, we get discouraged... But, it is also true that, in the future, something even better may actually come!!!
What a positive way of thinking Lau! I like that!
EliminarI really like the idea that life has other plans for us when we don't get what we want when we want it...Sometimes we wish things that are not exactly good for us, but what we think are more suitable for the moment we are going through. Though it sounds ridiculously optimistic, I like to think that better outcomes are ahead, We just have to wait and see...
ResponderEliminarI loved this film. As you say, it is not THE movie, but it's really interesting. It is a love story told from a different perspective.
ResponderEliminarPoor Tom and mean Summer, ha ha!
Talking about movies and this is quite related to the quote you use to finish your post, YOU HAVE TO WATCH "Silver Linings" starring Bradley Cooper and the pretty Jennifer Lawrence. It's a CRAZY story about TWO CRAZY people!
I LOVED IIIITT, it made me cry. (Oops, Everything makes me cry -.-)
Yes, Agus! Mean, mean Summer! It's great that you like it! Yes, I saw it. It's great! I love romantic movies, which are not so romantic. Blue valentine?
EliminarNati, after reading your post, now I would like to watch the film!! And I agree with you! Life is not as perfect as we want it to be, however, we should live the moment and try to overcome every difficulties. Once we have overcome those obstacles, if we encounter them again, they won't be difficulties for us any longer. A typical expression for this situation is AFTER THE STORM COMES A CALM!
ResponderEliminarI also loved that movie Naty. And what you say is actually reasonable. How many times do we spend thinking and planning our future and suddenly there is a turning point in our lives in which everything that w have dreamed off falls apart. And what do we do? We curse every single living thing that goes around us. But that is not the point. Sometimes we have to understand that life does not work the way we plan it. And we have to accept it. Otherwise we would end up being miserable for the rest of our lives.
